The Vena Cava presentation was unlike anything else at Fashion Week. It consisted of the UPS hub room being set up like a European garden party where you were face to face with models who were on display doing things like trimming bushes, cuddling amphibians, sketching with coal and shucking corn. One model was even taking a real nap, which was comical but I can totally appreciate. I’m down to squeeze in some Z’s wherever and whenever possible. Plus, Fashion Week is beyond tiring, especially for the models, I imagine. So catch them while you can, babycakes!
The clothes, as you can see, are undeniably beautiful. To name a few key looks there were effortless Navy and Ivory silk dresses with graphic art-deco bibbed collars — dressed up with black platform shoes or down with colorful men’s oxfords, extra wide legged trousers paired with a Parisian beret and dramatic blue-red lips and black wool shifts with clunky brass hardware adorning the shoulder straps.
From the white wine that was passed out amongst guests, to the set design, to EVERY single piece of clothing, there wasn’t one thing that I didn’t like. BRAVO!
In unrelated news, I saw Cory Kennedy, the new NYLON “it” girl, in line for the presentation wearing a black leather jacket and her signature bedhead hairdo — She looked very cute.
