So, I don’t profess to understand or know much about this whole ‘Second Life‘ phenomenon except that it’s a game (I’m sorry, ‘Internet-based Virtual World’) that certain gamer types seem to be really into and that one of my favorite bands, AIR, has some sort of virtual presence in their little world. –but somehow I accidentally ran across a Second Life Fashion Blog today, which I found pretty amusing. When it comes to “teh interwebs”, I do believe that I have officially seen it all now. Now, I’m not necessarily making fun, because that would be ignorant since I’ve never tried the game…er, virtual world. OK, so I am making fun *a little bit* (in my head anyway)…but maybe I’m just jealous since I don’t even have enough time for my First Life? American Apparel just added some brand new colors and styles to their inventory and being the lifelong American Apparel-lover that I am, of course I am all over it. I know that yellow is supposed to be the hot color for Spring 2007 but I am just gaga over this blue. Me + that pocket frock (pictured above) + a great pair of white oxfords = YESSS/LOVE…are you feelin’ it? Anyhow, if the blue is not for you, maybe their new yellows, reds, or purples will be screaming your name. Go check it out: American Apparel — Living In Color! P.S. Sorry about the GROSS lack of updates. The ole writing career (and poor time management?) has kept me busy, busy, busy! If anyone wants to help keep this thing alive and contribute to Trashionista, please let me know!!!! xxxooo, Filed under: Fashion Comments: 6 Comments |

From WWD: After seven years of sobriety, the designer relapsed recently and decided to undergo a second round of in-patient rehabilitation for drug and alcohol abuse. The day after showing his Louis Vuitton collection in Paris, Jacobs, who has publicly acknowledged substance abuse problems in the past, left the French capital and flew to a treatment facility in Arizona. Reached for comment earlier today Jacobs’ business partner Robert Duffy confirmed the rumor that had started to circulate around New York. “Marc made the right decision,” Duffy said. “He’d been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away. “According to the experts, such a relapse isn’t uncommon,” Duffy continued. “Thankfully, Marc recognized the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him.” I know it seems like everyone is in and out of rehab these days, so we get desensitized and it becomes hard to be compassionate. However, the struggle with addiction is one near to my heart and Marc Jacobs is someone I greatly admire so I feel for him. Breaking 7 years sobriety must really suck. Part of me wonders if being around his ex-bf Jason Preston (top right in photo), had any influence on his relapse? I mean, the dude is known to be a major tweeker and party animal. Get better Marc! xoxo Filed under: Fashion and Gossip Comments: 1 Comment |
