The Cory Kennedy Phenomenon: Steal This Look - August Trends
Posted on 07.25.06 by Editor @ 1:39 pm

Cory Kennedy

Cory Kennedy - She is the epitome of Trashionista/Hobo Chic (obviously, MY personal favorite subculture of style). If you haven’t heard of her yet, believe me you will. This teenage scene queen has been taking the world by storm. First conquering Hollywood Nightlife before she was even of legal drinking age, she is now spreading her wildfire allure into the pages of Fashion Magazines — most recently, NYLON — capturing the attention of legions of international fans.

Love her or hate her, you have to admit that she has a certain something that makes you stop and look. Personally, I have mixed feelings about the public support of her underage nonstop partygirl lifestyle - however , I’m so feeling the devil-may-care vibe of her style and her fashion sense is on point!

She is definitely a trendsetter and thus, I get a lot of young girls asking about what clothes she is wearing and where to buy them or how to achieve her look, on the online communities that I frequent. Despite her stylishly unkempt appearance, most of the items she wears are designer and are very expensive for the average non-jetsetter-teen-to early 20’s budget.

Cory Kennedy

So….with the help of my favorite cheap.chic shopping spot; dELiAs.cOm, I bring you The Cory Kennedy Experience: FOR LESS.

Yara Bubble Dress ($39.50) Buy 2x bigger than your actual size for that Slouchy, Oversized look.

Pocket Tote ($19.50)

Shell Medallion Necklace ($19.50) Layer this gold shell necklace with a chunky gold chain

Pair all of this with a vintage headscarf, some black maui/hirachi sandals and a smudge of E.L.F.’s Cosmetics Coffee - Brightening Eye Liner ($1.00) under the eyes and you’re ready to go slum it up in style!

Oh yeah, and remember not to brush your hair….have fun kids!

I Want it Wednesdays: Light Pink Zebra Print Thermal
Posted on 07.19.06 by Editor @ 5:19 pm

Zebra Thermal

I love thermals. Always have, always will. I’m a TRUE Trashionista so I honestly don’t care if their in season, in style or even in decent condition. They bring about fond childhood memories, are cute and comfortable as can be. I can wear them from the bed or out and about with my jeans — I don’t care.

Theyre one of my permanent-favorite wardrobe staples and this Foley Zebra Print Thermal exceeds all of my requirements because not only is it a thermal, but it also happens to be crazy stylish AND only $12.99. You can’t beat that with a baseball bat.

Expect to see me roaming the East Coast this Fall wearing this with a white vest, skinnies, high boots and a stack of layered gold necklaces.

Funky Fresh Ya’ll.

Affordable MidSummer Vacation Looks
Posted on 07.08.06 by Editor @ 1:15 pm

Being well into Summer, I think it is time for everyone to do at least one memorable activity in style, to make the season complete!

Here are a couple of affordable ideas I have concocted:

1. Burn a CD of travelin’ tunes, grab your best friend, hop in the car and head off on a roadtrip to discover a small town that you’ve never thought of going to before. Shop thrift stores, talk to locals, stroll in the sunshine and take lots of fun pictures while wearing a floppy hat and this adorable tiered brown ‘Sienna’ dress with pintucked stripe inset at bodice and bottom hem. ($33.00)

2. I know that us ‘girly’ types aren’t always best known for our outdoorsy spirit but I think that everyone should go camping at least once in their life whether they have an interest in it or not — No matter what there are sure to be mishaps and hilarious hijinks that will make for great stories and pix!! So, pack up a flashlight, some marshmallows and a couple of your closest friends and take a chance at surviving in the wild in these cute little ‘Danielle shorts that only cost $29.50! Paired up with this ‘Deer’ Tank ($22.00) , you’ll be quite the cute little campfire girl!

Or, if you’re me, you’ll be headed down South with your boyfriend and his family for lots of grubbin’ at their Family reunion; wearing this Perry shirt-dress ($39.50)

Caftans & a true trashionista moment
Posted on 07.06.06 by Editor @ 8:34 am

I know it sounds funny but I really wish that I had a Caftan to lounge around in from now until August. Although, I still haven’t figured out how I’d rock it, exactly. I’ll put more thought into that later.
