Fendi Metallic Flannel High-Waisted Trouser - $800.00
Fendi Peep Toe Patent Pump - $510.00
Missoni Limes Cashmere Cape - $1,275.00 Sorry folks, I’m fresh out of witty copy. I’m not feeling well but I quickly grew tired of seeing Benji Madden and Steve Aoki at the top of my page. I’ve been trying to be less critical of people lately and you see where it gets me? I’m probably better off being a hater. I’m going to go lay down now. I’ll write some better stuff later…in the meantime, just drool. Also, please know that I am not recommending anyone wear the above 3 items together. Well, the pumps and the trousers yes. The Missoni Cape? No. Filed under: Fashion and Outfit Ideas and Random and Shoes and Shopping Comments: 2 Comments |

Metro.Pop’s August/September issue featured a beautiful editorial called “Seeing Double” (shot by Sarah McColgan and Styled by Beba Knight), that featured several models sporting Butter Yellow Oxfords by Wunderkind. At New York Fashion Week, Men’s-style Oxfords seemed to be the footwear of choice as well, showing up everywhere from the Sabyasachi runway show to the Vena Cava presentation. Just in case you are unfamiliar with the term ‘Oxford’, it is a lace up shoe with a thin sole, that originated in Scotland and is typically constructed of heavy leather. It is generally thought of as a Men’s Dress Shoe — I believe my Father used to wear them to church.
This is a look that works on the streets as well, The Sartorialist captured a really great shot in Paris of Teen Vogue’s Gloria Baume rocking oxfords with white socks and her trench coat. I’m loving it! My pick for really wonderful, high-quality, yet affordable Oxfords, is the ‘Gretta’ by Delman Shoes, made of tumbled-grain calfskin: They come in Black, Khaki, Light Brown, Natural and are available for $159.00 at BlueFly.com Filed under: Fashion and Fashion Week and Inspiration and Menswear and Models and Outfit Ideas and Runway Shows and Shoes and Shopping and Stella Recommends Comments: 6 Comments |

As possibly the trashiest of all trashionistas, I am all about comfort and ease — I promise you — even so, I just cannot squash the urge to sock anyone over the age of 12, with money, who pretends to care about looking decent and has the nerve to wear those wretched “Crocs” shoes out in public (unless they are gardening). I try to avoid telling other people what they should or should not do as I’m sure my unkempt appearance bums out a lot of traditional fashionistas but in this particular instance, I just can’t help it. People need to understand that they can be super-comfortable and ultra-casual without looking like their footwear just tumbled out of a 25 cent toystore vending machine.
Stylish people of the world, please take a cue from California-based designers, Trovata, who had the sense to team up with TOMS Shoes for their Spring 2007 Fashion Week presentation. Now this is how effortless SHOULD be done…
Available in 18 unisex colors and combinations, TOMS shoes are seriously amazing in more ways than one. Not only are these Argentine Utilitarian-Inspired slip-ons super soft, practical and comfy but they also operate under the ‘NO SWEATSHOP‘ credo AND have a greater cause. Each pair sold is personally matched with a donated pair to a child in need. Now that reason alone, if any, is enough to make you kiss your Crocs goodbye (Even though I wish you’d never said “Hello” in the first place). I expect these to be my official slip-on shoe of the Spring/Summer seasons. Add layered necklaces, tousle hair and go!
